Interrogating the Union Politics of Equity, Inclusion and Diversity: A Roundtable Discussion

The past two years have been a watershed in anti-racist struggles, leading many organizations to interrogate their commitments to and progress towards racial equity.

This roundtable gathers leading labour movement activists to assess the enduring barriers to equity, diversity and inclusion in unions, and discuss the actions that will deliver racial equity for workers in their own organizations.

  • Carol Wall, social justice activist and labour educator, former Ontario Regional Director of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, and the first Human Rights Director of the Communication, Energy and Paperworkers Union (now Unifor).

  • Patricia Chong, Education Officer, AMAPCEO, and member of the Asian Canadian Labour Alliance
